On The Other Side Of The Tysa River
National Museum’s scientific workers are renowned for their research work. We couldn’t have missed the chance to do the research of the Maramorosh region in Romania on the occasion of the WINTER HOLIDAY TRADITIONS FESTIVAL.
It was the 50th festival and it was dedicated to the one hundred’s anniversary of the Romanian ethnographic science.
The festival was a good opportunity to get acquainted with the peculiarities of the different regions of Romania, including the local Hutsul culture.
The scientific part of the event included the conference attended by the numerous researchers. The speakers included Director General Yaroslava Tkachuk among others. The main point of her lecture was the need of close collaboration between Ukrainian and Romanian researchers of the Hutsul culture, especially given the fact that the region of Maramorosh included a Ukrainian community for centuries and its population has preserved their culture till now.
